Miss Haydee is old woman who studied in an educational establishment founded with the objective of training teachers called “Escuela Normal de Preceptoras”. I remember her as a small woman who always had watery eyes because of a problem in her lacrimal glands but she always smiling, she was strict but very kind and tender who always tried to make the best of her students.
She inspired me in the first place because she instilled us to greet each other with a kiss on the face every morning, she allowed us to sit in a group but after a while we should to change groups, so that we all met and respected. Secondly, she made us to read what we would wanted to read every morning, first it was half an hour and then we could spend up to an hour reading, I think that was the time when I read more novels and my best friend Leslie who didn't have good marks she could explain “Crónica de una muerte anunciada” to perfectly. And finally thanks to her I likes to act, since she realized that although I was a very shy girl I could to act without shame so she encouraged me to participate in plays and competitions.
For a long time I wanted to be a teacher so I could be as important to a child as Miss Haydee was to me.
